The dense fiber matrix of living vegetation is where most of the plant nutrition resides. These include vitamins (A, K, C, E, D, and the Bs), minerals (Fe, K, Na, Ca, Mn, Zn, I, B), and an entire organic chemistry department of antioxidants! This phytochemistry (aka plant chemistry, phytochemicals, and phytosterols) are the critical components of our nutrition. They are all cradled in the fiber of plants.


This wondrous assemblage of plant-based chemicals number in the thousands of which only a few dozen have been clearly elucidated. I discuss Curcumin in Turmeric, Sulforaphanes in Broccoli, and Lycopene in Tomatoes. for examples, in documents accessible to our clients in the Client Center


Plant chemistry provides critical antioxidants which decrease inflammation from oxidative stresses which damage our body cells, corrupt our DNA, and cause chronic disease. This is why Dr. John features a rainbow or vegetables, beans, grains, and fruit in Dr. John’s ‘Daily Do’ list found in The Client Center


Plant Nutrition, cradled in fiber of our plant foods, helps prevent and treat: lung disease; many cancers; rheumatoid arthritis; and type 2 diabetes. Studies suggest that plant- as- medicine helps prevent: heart disease; stroke, breast, and prostate cancer; type 2 diabetes; hypertension; and, inflammatory bowel disease.
